INSANE COLLECTION of rare recordings from people w/ connections to BANANAFISH MAGAZINE Comes w/ 4LP's...a cd..full color inserts and a super insane full color poster! RECOMMENDED!!!

'Induced Musical Spasticity commemorates the nascent pollination-in the musty shadows of the real ersatz Sherwood Forest, a couple hundred miles north of San Francisco-of the BUTTECOUNTY FREE MUSIC SOCIETY, an apocryphal institution that encouraged anything and nothing, in musical and amusical contexts, sometimes intentionally, sometimes because no one knew any better or cared. Includes highbrow concept tracks by THE MARQUES (brothers COLE and STEVE MARQUIS), UNLIKELY MODERNISTS, AMBIVALENT DOSAGE, DILWHIP, HYPNAGOGIC JERK, HALLUCINATORY COMPANION (aka BARBARA MANNING and Cole Marquis). Ripe dementia by LAWRENCE CRANE & JOHN YOUNG, TOPS INC., RORY LYONS, ZIPLOK, SIDNEY AFRIKA, THE CONDUITS, LUCIAN TIELENS, and RICHARD STREETER. And then youve got primitard rock dunt by THE FLAMBOYANT OFFALS, WALKING JOCK, DEAD BOY 3, and shockingly raw 28TH DAY material that predates most anyones idea of the original lineup of that influential band. THE BRENT LEWIIS ENSEMBLE pollutes the lions share of real estate with a side-long tape cut-up a la Faust Tapes called "Goat Embryo (Covered With Glue)," and their entire Industrial Barbecue set. Two-thirds of the material here was previously released (translation: a few dozen cassettes were dubbed one at time and passed through the hands of people in the same rural Northern California area code 25 years ago). All the relics in this boxset are likely unheard by anyone not specifically mentioned above'---LABEL DESCRIPTION

More recent LP from the the cast of BANANA SHITS! Rootin Tootin Rotten Cotton!! ... Complex hillbilly classics!

Definitly one of the Creepier Caroliner releases... Vocals sound like Malcom McClaren at the beginning of the Great Rock 'n Roll Swindle! HA! If ya haven't seen it, it sounds like a guy trying to talk while he pukes! RULES!

I guess the original LP stampers for this one have been stolen by some scummy industrial junkies so this slab is only available on CDR these days...mastered from a vinyl copy of course!

Awesome early Caroliner LP that we don't get in stock too often... Highly Recommended!

Ergotism is the name for sometimes severe pathological syndromes affecting humans or animals that have ingested ergot alkaloid-containing plant material, such as ergot-contaminated grains. The common name for ergotism is 'St. Anthony's fire', in reference to the symptoms, such as severe burning sensations in the limbs. These are caused by effects of ergot alkaloids on the vascular system due to vasoconstriction of blood vessels, sometimes leading to gangrene and loss of limbs due to severely restricted blood circulation. The neurotropic activities of the ergot alkaloids may also cause hallucinations and attendant irrational behaviour, convulsions, and even death.Other symptoms include strong uterine contractions, nausea, seizures, and unconsciousness. Historically, controlled doses of ergot were used to induce abortions and to stop maternal bleeding after childbirth, but simple ergot extract is no longer used as a pharmaceutical. Monks of the order of St. Anthony the Great specialized in treating ergotism victims with balms containing tranquilizing and circulation-stimulating plant extracts; they were also skilled in amputations.

'A second helping of Caroliner's inimitable 7 inch in 12 inch record format. This time, one sided, split with one member's solo marching band disasters. Concentrated on 19th Century electronic music from the troupe behind the Singing Bull Memorial Band. You'll hear mutilated banjo music, violins scraping the floor with ergot infestation, in a diseased church undergoing fire damage, suffering through brain augmentations. Caroliner side clocks in at an epic 28.1 minutes on their portion. Within the other portion of this long-player, Woodpatty serves a monster-mish-mash of deranged marching band cut ups, haunted sea farer drones, chirping homemade electronic circuits eating moldy ears of corn, and piles of broken concreet musical mucous. Woodpatty flips the cake for 23 minutes of tonal dissections. Not bad for a hobo living in a shed for over 200 years. Split release with some Fish Pies.'--LABEL DESCRIPTION

Caroliner really is the most undescribable band ever. If you've never heard them and you want to hear the worlds most fucked up band - grab any one of these. All are highly recommended. One of the most important bands ever.

Classic double LP from the gang. Play both at the same time...it sounds great! Throw up music.

Pretty rockin album from the Singin Bull. This one's got Salt Lumps on it. My favorite to see em play live...This is the one I prolly pull out the most next to STRIKE THEM HARD...HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

They say this one is a 7 in 12 form. Basically that means 2 really long tracks on a a 12 inch LP - one on each side. File under: HORRIBLE TRANCE MUSIC.....aka HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

CATHARTIC PROCESS

'First conceived in 1999, and intensively honed over the past four years, Our Earth’s Blood, IV is finally realized. This is no collection - OEB IV is a full-length album spanning five discs! Few artists in any genre have delved to these depths to create such an expansive communication, in such a deepened language. Bastard Noise, aided by over two dozen artists from all over the world, have reached a true pinnacle with Our Earth’s Blood IV. Bastard Noise started alongside its powerviolence personality, Man Is The Bastard, in 1991. Our Earth’s Blood, the 7 inch EP released by Vermiform in 1993, solidified the future of Bastard Noise, rooted in caveman electronics and venomous vocals by Eric Wood. The Our Earth’s Blood II 10 inch split with The Locust from 1995 and Our Earth’s Blood III 7 inch EP from 1997, are but two more of well over one-hundred releases from this powerhouse. This new release not only encapsulates the Our Earth’s Blood tradition of over 15 years, but defines the spirit of caveman electronics that Bastard Noise created.

Our Earth’s Blood IV pulls together 'Skull Servants' in collaboration of sound and fury, including:MERZBOW (JAPAN), ANDORKAPPEN (U.S.A.), AZOIKUM (GERMANY), BIZARRE UPROAR (FINLAND), CHRISTIAN BASS (GERMANY), CLEW OF THESEUS (U.S.A.), CULPIS (JAPAN), DEFEKTRO (JAPAN), EMESIS (U.S.A.), GOLEM GROSS (U.S.A.), GOVERNMENT ALPHA (JAPAN), GUILTY CONNECTOR (JAPAN), JAY RANDALL/AGOROPHOBIC NOSEBLEED (U.S.A.), KELLY CHURKO (JAPAN), NYARLATHOTEP (U.S.A.), OBLONG BOX (U.S.A.), PEACEMAKER (U.S.A.), P.W.E. (U.S.A.), RICK GRIBENAS (U.S.A.), ROTTEN PIECE (U.S.A.), SICKNESS (U.S.A.), SURROUNDED (U.S.A.), TN666 (GERMANY), VOLITION (ENGLAND)

As a result of careful composition, and hundreds of hours spent in the studio, these 24 tracks have both the variety and cohesion necessary for a truly successful collaborative album. Lyrical content reveals the wholly unique voice of Eric Wood, and the packaging tastefully presents all lyrics. Our Earth’s Blood IV defines the overall ethos of Bastard Noise, serving as a manifesto as much as an epic album, clocking in at nearly 5 hours long.

Our Earth’s Blood IV is housed within a completely custom, die-cut package. Exterior graphics are printed in alternating matte lamination and spot gloss to create a unique black-on-black look. The package folds out into a cross-shape, with each disc housed in its own sleeve on each side of the cross and one in the center. Careful attention was paid with the design of both the graphics and the package to ensure that the presentation of this monumental album stacked-up to its scale and content. The package is identical in width and height to a jewel case, so it can be stored and displayed in most standard CD racks.'---LABEL DESCRIPTION

'The first in the 10-year anniversary series of re-issues and unreleased recordings. This one features material from 2002-2003, primarily dark harsh noise and cut ups. Included on 'Vaults, Vol. 1' are the split with Sewer Election, the 3 inch on Chondritic Sound, the 'Meth Cook Sets Apartment Ablaze' 3 inch, plus two unreleased tracks from failed compilations. Chrome cassettes inside screen printed cloth bag'---LABEL DESCRIPTION

'After Sweden’s Niellerade Fallibilisthorstar’s impressive full length albums Hålrum (SNSE) and Skrankverk (Dystonia EK) (among other stellar releases), this collaborative album shows an even further development in their sound. The pairing with Green Army Fraction (also from Sweden) for Westerbotten results in a massive, powerful sound. Their heavy use of cymbals and analog electronics creates impressions that surpass harsh noise trappings, and the listener immediately realizes that Westerbotten exceeds genre definitions or expectations of either group involved. The sounds created reveal the magickal qualities of Metgumbnerbone or Coil, the dark psychedelic ambiance of The Stargazer's Assistant The Other Side of the Island or Wolf Eyes’ Black Wing Over the Sand, and the cacophony of The New Blockaders. Prepare yourself for one of the most impressive listens in recent memory. Elaborately printed with metallic inks and packaged in a gatefold sleeve, along with a 16-page booklet.'---LABEL DESCRIPTION

'The DM/MNEM collaboration works on a much deeper and darker level. Slow heartbeats, deep sea diver exhalations the leaden footsteps of which are the accompaniment to tibetan bowl rings and surfacing oxygen bubbles. This depth makes it a much more rewarding listening experience. Taken through headphones the laser blast destruction that pans around your shell-likes in Marazion Sand is truly stunning but everywhere on here there is much to admire.' --- Idwal Fisher

'contrasting LP of Facialmess' brutal noise and Hana Kodama's subtle ambience'---LABEL DESCRIPTION

'A sinister, erotic undertone also saturates a couple of new releases on the Tasmanian based imprint Cipher Productions. Werewolf in the Black Space (Cipher Productions CD) is a collection of collaborative material from The Rita and Wilt, drawn from a couple of limited run cassettes with an additional unreleased beast closing proceedings. Truly bloodthirsty, this is invigorating, aggressive stuff and works effectively as a whole despite its status as a collection of previously released material drawn from a number of sources. Unexpectedly subtle opening piece ‘Dead Wife of Hitchcock’ stalks the listener for some time with a deep set of repeated, brooding movements before a vicious wall instantaneously declares the arrival of the murderous fiend, who refuses to depart for the duration. This is not an expedition into monotony however, as the colour of the fortifications produced are fascinating throughout, and at key moments contrast is employed as a compositional device to great effect. In actual fact it is the subdued segments that make the sheets of harsh noise appear all the more vehement in attack when unleashed.' ---Total Scum Materials

'Apparently the result of an extended period of serious mental unrest, the sound on 'Wretch' is for the most part distant and murky. The well constructed and well executed tracks sound like an interesting mix of Power Electronics and Dark Ambient with occasional hints of CMI style Darkwave and post-Industrial (track one, 'The Warm Body Complex', could be an MZ 412 out-take). The deliberately muddied sound isn't so much lo-fi retro as a restraining force on the otherwise harshness which gives a sense of claustrophobia and a feeling of being trapped. It's an important part of the whole album. Low lying synth patches, bursts of carefully tailored static, crackling and crunching, vicious distorted vocals, metal scraping and plenty of feedback – all through a layer of grime. Knowing this, it's important to keep in mind that there are serious differences between the tracks, thanks to their meticulous composition that gives the album a genuine diversity and drama. What happens, then, is the aggression becomes thoughtful, and the album becomes more considered and more demanding of concious listening. It's mainly PE but far removed from the usual cliches and attempts, the most typically furious track being the last, 'Power', an aptly titled rising from the ruins that itself ends with similar crackling that the album begins with. This is a considered and worthy work that may even help point the way to new attempts for the future of the genre.'--- Review Taken from IAM
