'first new recordings from these 2 mysterious outfits in almost 2 years! IN FLUX set off in a shambolic observance of ominous tidal noise! high priestess and cohorts lead an obscured ceremony of occult tongues and oblique sonics, breaking into a crushing, rhythmic trance, and concluding with a spellbinding ecstatic mass in a fog of horns, pulsating electronics and voices. beausoleil and r-h jr. return with a spirit-channeling effort in subtle, swirling frequency shifts. drawing their power from medium beausoleil's haunting channeled voices, thee holee see conjure a cloud heady and feverish, yet icy-clear, moody and manipulative. the new spiritualist revival. a summons from the sea. this is no windham-hill. this is the real new age. colour offset-printing on heavy colour paper. spraypainted high bias cassette. xerox insert. hand numbered edition of 50.'---LABEL DESCRIPTION |

'From out of leftfield comes Maldek, named after the theoretical missing planet which exploded to become the asteroid belt. In this case Maldek is Nate Hamlett of Seattle who has assembled an album of unusual and short quirky tracks, most of which are instrumental. The occasional vocals are experimental, sung in strange falsetto or a sweet beach boys pitch. The guitar parts are contemplative and maintain a kind of sereneness, but get very fun in some tracks, including a backwards guitar section accompanied by other instruments. Maldek incorporates interesting percussion and electronic effects as well in the more wacky tracks. Loops are played through a series of foot pedals, while the guitarist adds more rhythm. Overall, a quiet, melodic and somewhat spacey album.'---DISCOGS REVIEW INSANE SCREENPRINTED ARTWORK by MARK SCHOMBURG aka YEAST CULTURE! Limited edition of 193 copies. |

'Before better known as Panicsville, but now moving into the realms of serious music (this new release got some sponsoring from arts councils) under his own name. The octa-thing deals with the number eight, and the three pieces here on this DVD (no images) can be played on a 7.1 installation, if you have such a thing. I only have a 2.0 installation, called 'stereo', but it sounds great still. Ortmann lists (inconveniently on the DVD itself) a list of instruments - mainly old analogue synthesizers and where he did his field recordings. Just as on the Schimpfluch disc, I'd say this is the small alley where noise is really interesting. Not because it's super loud, although there are points when things are pretty loud, but because of the fine balance between electronic, noisy sounds and the crackling of highly amplified field recordings which are all put together into an interesting collage of sound. Not like Schimpfluch of short and shorter sounds, but through longer pieces which work quite well. Great stuff, both of these releases and if noise is like this, I'd sign up again.'---FRANS DE WARD Taking sound to the obvious next level (7.1), further exploring the stereo capabilities of my audio narratives, Octagonist stands unparallelled in the field of Experimental/Musique Concrete. Recorded in various locations in Germany, Belgium, Italy and the USA. This album is not compatible with CD player technology and must be played through a DVD player or DTS Decoder with Surround Sound options. Special appearances by old skool homeboys, Joe Raglani and John Wiese on one track. This release was partially funded by a Grant from the City of Chicago.' ---LABEL DESCRIPTION |

'Ben Reynolds and John W. Fail collated several recordings to compile Uncabineted, covering the period between September 2005 (when they met) and March 2006. Reynolds work is well-documented on labels such as Ikuisuss, Memoirs of an Aesthete, Time-Lag and 267 Lattajjaa while Fail has dabbled in myriad projects including Lied Music, Intro to Pterodactyl and Land. Ranging from screaming acoustics to dirgy fuzzfests, the real document is that of experience, joy and camaraderie.'---LABEL DESCRIPTION |

'The title for this one is most appropriate as Mr. Kendall's work and vision rest in a realm all his own. Working with digital noise in a time when the genre titans are dusting off their analog gear again, Kendall's intense programming stands out, but it stands tall. Combining elements of improvisation, composition, field recordings and pure noise, Kendall's work is both sharp and vivid. This one is crisp. Analog purists beware.' ---LABEL DESCTRIPTION |

'On the new Untitled (2005) CD the Spanish composer Francisco López presents four recently composed pieces which span a broad dynamic as well as stylistic range. Together these constitute a fascinating and intense research exploration into the deep essence of sound. From sizzling jungle atmospheres to rumbling subterranean drones and microscopic details, this is a Francisco López tour de force. In addition to three pieces based on environmental recordings, Untitled (2005) features also an instrumental composition Untitled #111 (For Jani Christou) performed by the noted German Zeitkratzer ensemble. Unsuprisingly, either way the sound is 100% Francisco López. On this release Mr. López might be unsually forthcoming about the sound sources he uses (as specified on the sleeve) but the dedication for the creation of absolute music remains the same.'---LABEL DESCRIPTION |

'Recorded in the industrial city of Nagoya, Japan, Tsurumai is an expansive album of roughly improvised electro-acoustic music. Starting from a few small clicks, the music steadily grows outward, uneasily shifting and expanding… the musicians use acoustic sounds (from violin, piano, percussion), closely amplified objects, open circuits and computers, and anything else they could find. Rude bumps interrupt narcotic drones, the telltale human hands of improvisation disappear into a mysterious group sound, elements blur, vision fails, and time stops…'---LABEL DESCTIPTION |

'Aiming not to scare their audiences, necessarily, nor to drive them to the edges of their seats in suspense, but to mortify them with scenes of explicit gore. Lapdancer slits open this release with grisly landscapes and detestable appetites in drinking of the blood that flowed from your eyes, following the daunting path of decay, December 23rd shreds with razors with a three track follow up of black mass foul play.with 'necromancy, druid black, and slit the throat of the heathen man'. Atrocious, damnable, double negative bleak black noise. Pro laser printed inserts and tray cards with a red CDR in clear jewel cases. Gruesome Twosome!!! ' ---LABEL DESCRIPTION |

Segerhuva hereby presents the first solo recordings of Martin Bladh, who also resides in the acclaimed avantgarde group IRM and the more experimental unit Skin Area, both now widely known for their carismatic live-shows. This is a highly personal recording, which takes some firm mature steps further into physical essence and digs deep into the walls of the mothers utero with its hypnotic drones and drenching layers of organic sounds from cymbals, stringinstruments, accordion and bass, all treated with great care and respect. Instrumental throughout, bicephalous in the way of screeching, shuddering sounds and drowsy in opposition. There is something strangely slippery about the recordings, a frightening, obtuse atmosphere embedded in silk and soft controlled feedback. --- label description |

'Long-time San Francisco based sound artist, internationally known from his extensive discography as Crawling With Tarts, releases his second full- length solo work titled Vitoj.Continuing his microscopic exploration of dense sonic landscapes within volatile stases, Gendreau eavesdrops on pressurized states of compressed gas within hydrogen tanks, diaphanous vinyl recordings of archaic voices, and perilous work environments in the far east. All explored in real-time, this series of recordings further explore the volatile balance of Gendreau's physical and psychological states‹scientific detritus working as an acoustician and social/cultural detritus in everyday nomadic life‹reaching the threshold of exhaustion where his realizations are discovered in modes of 'half-sleep.' Vitoj offers a glimpse of these stases in dreamlike form.'---LABEL DESCRIPTION |

Mathias Josefsons one-man-project Moljebka Pvlse from Stockholm, Sweden here stretches the boundaries of ambient drone-music, perhaps a surprising listen for those accustomed to his other recordings put out by Eibon and Cold Meat Industry to name a few. This work to a larger degree features a sound pallette unarguably harsher than his other recordings. Tons of frenzied, computerized, but crispy clear distortion flows out over you like an ice wall and leaves the listener in a nervous state, begging for a warming aftermath. Static walls of rampant treated guitars and billowing droney backgrounds screaming endlessly out over the cold plains of the earth. ---label description |

'An eminent study of harsh noise through another three drastically different approaches from three amazing contemporary harsh noise artists. Haemorrhaging Fetus pummels the listener with a concentrated and seething avalanche of crunched electronics that ride down a mountain of heavy rock and cliff formations. Ferveur Noire takes a more abrupt and violent approach with stabbing and grating shifts and movements, all the while keeping the constant suffocation obvious. Sick Buildings offers a concise, concentrated, and incredibly tense study of harsh sound, it's explosive quality, and the rumbling sub frequencies it disrupts before and after it's attack. Easily one of the most focused works I have ever heard, taking the entity of harsh noise to new levels of study and concept. The release features a 'crystal' pro-CDr with pro-printed inserts and disc artwork, both encased in a vinyl 'trigger' case. 100 ed. '---LABEL DESCRIPTION |
