CD version of of the self released/self-titled LP by Cleveland's Emeralds recorded Aug-Sept 2008.  Proper follow up to their debut LP 'Solar Bridge',  'EMERALDS' takes the thick drone sound of that LP into an even more abstract and strange place.  Visual music that lifts the listener up and transports them through tubes of sound occasionally to be swept into the opposite direction by an unexpected entrance into another world entirely.  An intense journey that drops you off in a place just beyond death.

Field recording contributions from Aaron Dilloway. Mastered for CD by James Plotkin. Contains a 16 page full color booklet featuring photo artwork by the band themselves.

11x17 full color posters will be included in the first 30 mailorder copies.

Second volume of live recordings. C-60 containing two live gigs...one from Holland, and one from the UK both from the 2009 tour. As with the original FOUL, this title won't be in print for long.

mp3 samples: Den Haag (excerpt) -- London (excerpt)

Six tracks of of industrial rituals from this mysterious Swedish outfit. Thundering minimal rhythms and dark electronics surround heavily effected voices reciting things we really probably shouldn't be hearing. Seriously disturbing music that should be listened to with caution.

mp3 samples: Den Blodtunga Jorden (excerpt) -- Maran (excerpt)

Twilight Memories are a freeform unit from parts unknown. Hanson is proud to release this cassette after hearing their 6-something self released LP's of all over the map strangeness. The A-side is a heavy discharge of demon energy recorded outside under influence of the sun. Curious birds flutter through dark drones of horn? / voice? / didgeridoo?!?! The B-side is an ultra hiss smothered dive into a haze of darkness utilizing minimal electronics and reverberations of a tunnel. Two intense sides of humans releasing inhuman vibrations.

mp3 samples: Side ONE (excerpt) -- Side TWO (excerpt)

C-60 of VERY minimal synth tests made after intense holiday readings of the books of COMMANDER X. The new studio has just been set up and the recordings on this tape were from a session I did to get reacquainted with my synthesizers. Unlike every other SS release, there is no tape delay FX used on these recordings..some LIGHT reverb on the B-side from an old 'echo-verb' unit I recently acquired, but other than that it's raw synth.

The A side is a triple synth sample and hold exercise using Dotcom Modular, Yamaha CS-5, and Moog Rogue. The B-side is an ULTRA minimal pulse ambience piece for Moog Rogue and Lafayette Echo-Verb. This side was very influenced by a tape called CHAMBER MUSIC originally released in 1984 by STRENGTH THROUGH JOY. I got the tape quite a few years ago and remember being struck by how minimal it was. I wasn't too fond of it at the time, but I think about it quite a lot and I think it's influenced a lot of my output, especially my more recent recordings. I think of it as ambient music, not 'ambient' as in the genre, but as sounds to surround yourself with while doing something else. Throw this one on and read some COMMANDER X!

mp3 samples: SIDE ONE (excerpt) -- SIDE TWO (excerpt)

Early Dilloway recordings 1999 - 2001. Tracks originally appeared on 'NON GROWING BACK' CD (American Tapes, edition of 16, 2001), and BOGGS VOL. 1 CASS (Herbst, edition of 35, 2001). Very minimal electronics, tape and voice experiments. All electronic sounds made using a modified heart monitor made for me by NATE YOUNG.

Minimal electronic wind storm made via intense modular synth patching. Dense textures of never ending waves of thunder similar to DAMION ROMERO's rumble work and MB's Armagheddon-era recordings.

mp3 samples: MONSTURO side 1 excerpt -- MONSTURO side 2 excerpt

Reissue of one of my favorite very limited GODS OF TUNDRA cassettes. Insane recording by THE HAUNTING of very crude tape manipulation feedback and guitar...Makes me think of a bedroom scum version of FUSHITSUSHA's THE CAUTION APPEARS...total blast the volume on a sunny day dark guitar shit! The flip side is a continuation of the same session just after Tara left to go throw up... transforming the HAUNTING into FAILING LIGHTS. This side is more subdued haunted creaking rumble electronics, and barely controlled feedback. A total shit-fi Michigan classic.

mp3 samples: THE HAUNTING excerpt -- FAILING LIGHTS excerpt

'A major oxide wobbble as the Michigan master of magnetic tape hiss finally delivers some dementia for the Monk. All the tangled up tape loop mess you know and love, with plenty of slow-motion sludge, aquatic gurgles and sleep inducing rust to get your mind drenched. Junked sounds of the 8 track come crawling out of the speakers alongside vocal chew. A spirited take on a demented dusk. File under Catatonic Dumpster Music, and keep it beside your private stash.'---CHOCOLATE MONK

CDR version available on Chocolate Monk!

mp3 samples: Door 4 -- Door 6

Recent recordings featuring the trio of Aaron Dilloway, Wyatt Howland (Skin Graft), and Mick Travis. A-side is a seriously damaged mess of crude tape manipulation of chainsaw electronics and junk noise. B-side is 2 tracks of rumble heavy lo-fi rhythmic noise and voice loops of the dead recorded live in a barn.

mp3 samples: SHATTER Side 1 excerpt -- LIVE IN A BARN 1 excerpt

Heavily rhythmic voice, metal, percussion and brass loops resulting in physical and mental damage. I've always been interested in David's loop work as his way of using loops is almost exactly the opposite as mine. Whereas my loops are always very muddy and crude, David's are always very crisp and precise.

mp3 samples: DAVID RUSSELL side 1 excerpt -- DAVID RUSSELL side 2 excerpt

Collaboration between AARON DILLOWAY (ex-WOLF EYES) and ROBERT TURMAN (ex-NON, Z.O. Voider). Recorded in January 2009 during a horrible Ohio snowstorm. Dilloway on synthesizer and tape delays and Turman on tapes and effects. Very minimal, very slow, very cold. Frozen and stuck in the snow. Jewel Case CD w/ white tray. Edition of 500 copies in jewel case w/ white tray.

mp3 samples: BLIZZARD 1 excerpt -- BLIZZARD 2 excerpt

CD reissue of a double cassette from 2006 originally released in an edition of 30 copies. Very minimal loops of distant feedback, hiss and scruff drenched in WAY TOO MUCH tape delay. Includes 15 minutes not included on the original set. This CD edition of 200 hand-numbered copies in digipak with artwork by Bonnie Banks. First in a series of low run CD's from Hanson. Only available DIRECTLY from HANSON.

'Back during my Bachelor of Fine Arts, one of my fellow students was a woman who was eventually obsessed with the idea, systems, and eventual remnants of ‘process’. One of her key pieces involved hundreds of raw eggs which she carefully emptied, cracked open, and systematically peeled the delicate membranes from inside of the eggs. She carefully laid out the hundreds of membranes as they assembled in a giant area to the side of the studio. I swear that she didn’t even have some grandiose idea for the membranes as the peeling and assemblage system(s) evolved into something that was simply beyond any eventuality and initial idea for the piling skins of the eviscerated eggs. The deconstruction and conception behind the act of pulling apart the eggs into a vast collection of grimy, translucent membrane piles suggested something so much more than even a final constructed piece. Watching her as she realized that the true crux behind the piece was the process alone was astounding as the membranes were laid to rest to represent an almost sudden and powerful eventuality that acted as a piled testament to ‘process’. The harsh sound works of THE HATERS over artist GX Jupitter-Larsen’s long and established career also powerfully bring to mind the idea of process. Most of THE HATERS’ works are ideologies behind something being destroyed or manipulated; the amplified and sometimes distorted sounds of the processes representing a document that exemplifies the acts carried out upon the objects, machines, or otherwise. The act of recording the processes alone is evidence of an eventuality (to possibly be edited further) in the form of a possible final piece of vinyl, cassette, or CD, but the tendencies of THE HATERS’ material also intend the listener to experience the process of the audio lines as they were primarily constructed in the recording area. There is no doubt that GX appreciates the totemic quality of his personal objects’ physical aftermath, that is sometimes documented with video or photographs, but the powerful beauty of a THE HATERS audio piece is the experience for the listener that acts ALSO as a final document of sound that represent clearly the certain idea and sometimes violent act. THE HATERS’ celebrated early work “In the Shade of Fire” acts a document collection for the listener that also reflects THE HATERS strong textural aesthetic through object manipulation and recording that defines GX’s place in the world of ‘harsh noise’. Listening your way through the material is a studied and defined testament to different representational fragments of heavy sound and source manipulation. The tracks Glsam and Diti are explosive introductory and side concluding / framing pieces that highlight and pronounce the breaking and crashing down of material, all gelled with bass driven strikes whose trails deteriorate into hints of cascading dirty and dark ‘Americanoise’ distortion. Bebas powers through a heavier dynamic with conscious falling apart of source material, but in abstracted waves that suggest the material being rebuilt just to simply fall and crash apart again with a sense of powerful futility. Thuch enhances the textural elements of the explosions and crashing as the sharpness of the strikes are slightly ‘rounded’ at the edges to expose an almost ‘gurgling’ texture that moves and slaps with vicious perplexity. Taisic represents a very early ‘Americanoise’ study of hiss manipulation that is accented with minimalist scraping that bring to mind the force of process on top of the white noise line. Cassas is the album’s meditated example of sharp shot-driven violence; articulated and seemingly layered for optimum cutting and breaking which bring forth sound dynamism from very physical deterioration. Fire 5 is an amazing example of a highly textural ‘wall’ of sound that, to the contemporary fan of gritty and dirty crunch waves, is a primary early example of powerful crackle lines that focus on the inner dynamism of the sound itself. All of the material discussed above is made up of elements of physicality and process, but the tracks Iny 1 and Iny 2 act, for the listener, as the ‘notes’ for the ideology of process and falling apart as they act as a more minimal, subtle, and exacting study of the scraping, scuffing, and hands on work of the artist as he manipulates the deteriorating materials. In essence, Iny 2 is an amazing concluding track that reminds the listener of the core focus and ideology behind THE HATERS’ exemplification of grating sound via concept driven manipulation of tangible sources, the process, the aftermath, and the eventual recording that reflects all of the above sound qualities.'

DIGIPAK CD reissue of my CHAIN SHOT LP which was originally released on LP by THRONE HEAP. Contains a 28 minute bonus track and copies ordered directly from HANSON come with a 11x17 full color poster.

Below is a review of the original LP:

'With only tape loops, metal, and horns (and sometimes, it seems, metal on horns) the two side long pieces, 'Chain Shot' and 'Execution Dock' respectively, explore the ugly underbelly of noise before just scraping right through and aiming for the insides. In a genre that has quickly turned into a broad and often inaccurate description of a certain breed of every-man experimental music, Dilloway sticks to the old-fashioned definition of noise, doing battle with the materials in front of him as he continues the construction of his impressive body of work.

Dilloway, a former member of noise-titans Wolf Eyes, has recently been releasing solo work that explores much more abstract and thoughtful terrain than his previous group's onslaughts. 'Chain Shot' is more a sound collage than anything, and while it is a heaping glob of muddled debris, it is also a highly controlled one. Looping samples on top of samples, Dilloway builds a slowly encroaching beast before slowly disintegrating it, bone by bone. This is some highly textural and immediately emotive soundscape work.

'Execution Dock' begins with a repeating loop of what sounds like the beginning and the end syllables of some nut's conversation with a lamppost. In the distance sounds a pained song of sorts, like a rodent's death cry, or maybe its birth one. I'm guessing maybe this is the horn, though it would be tough to be certain about much of anything here. Delayed creaks and groans float in and around as the vocal sample dissipates, leaving you sloshing through the mud puddle only to realize that its a tar pit the size of La Brea.---HENRY SMITH, http://earconditionednightmare.blogspot.com/'

Starting out in 2005 performing live sets using only televisions as sound sources, EMERALDS has grown in recent years into a monster of HEAVY improvised drone using analog synths and masterfully effected guitar. Born out of the midwest scum-noise scene, these guys have taken the INTENSE HEAVINESS of their midwest brethren to a place that is entirely their own. They have replaced the creepy atmosphere and abrasive harsh noise of their peers w/ a VERY DIFFERENT though EQUALLY INTENSE assault of COSMIC DRONE POWER!

HANSON RECORDS is proud to announce EMERALDS - SOLAR BRIDGE, the trio's first full-length album after numerous cassette and cd-r releases on such labels as American Tapes, Chondritic Sound, and the bands own imprints Wagon and Gneiss Things. The album opens with the side long 'MAGIC' where the band builds a quiet drone into an extreme thick sawblade of swirling noise as beautiful as it is menacing. The flip is yet another sidelong journey titled 'THE QUAKING MESS', a track that stabs your brain with fluttering sparks of synthesized needles before relaxing you into a Göttschingesque dream state while slowly bringing you back to earth with an electronic wave of molten rumble. Fans of the smooth tones of 'New Age Of Earth' era Ash Ra Tempel and the buzzing thick drones of Throbbing Gristle's 'Heathen Earth' should take note, as EMERALDS may be their new source for electronic drugs.

mp3 samples: MAGIC excerpt -- THE QUAKING MESS excerpt

Split release between myself and Robert Turman. Robert was an original member of NON back in the late 1970's appearing on the first 7-inch MODE OF INFECTION. He released a number of very limited solo cassettes throughout the 80's, including the monster 8-cassette box set CHAPTER ELEVEN (1976-1987). He and I have been working on remastering his old tapes over the last year, and Robert has also starting recording and performing again. His side of this cassette is just a taste of what is to become an onslaught of new recordings and unearthed classic industrial RT material to be released on HANSON. Twisted voices, waves of static hiss, disorienting and bizarre horn and string melodies, looped and delayed into a perfectly paced piece of surreal sound. My side is influenced by my recent collaboration recordings with Cleveland scumbag Wyatt Howland aka SKIN GRAFT. A confusing meld of organic and electronic sounds recorded using 8-track loops of synth, metal percussion, and radio static.

---Aaron Dilloway, December 2008

Second release in the 'HANSON RECORDS CLASSIC ALBUM REISSUE SERIES'! For the first time ever on cassette is this 1988 classic of true NOISE! THIS TAPE IS PLAYED BY RUBBING DIRT IN IT! No stereo is needed! Long out of print on LP and CD...now available again as a C-0 packaged in a plastic bag with real dirt!

FIrst release in the 'HANSON RECORDS CLASSIC ALBUM REISSUE SERIES'! For the first time ever on cassette is this 2004 modern classic of structured dark noise. Rock instrumentation repurposed with crude electronics and tape manipulations into a horrifying stew of Frankenstein sound. A perfect album. Out of print on both LP and CD...now available on a c-60 cassette w/ 20 minute bonus track 'BONES'.

An excellent cassette to make you feel sea sick from the guitarist of TRAUM. The A side sounds more like a thick metal cable fluttering in the wind than a guitar. Nauseating low end fluttering waves interrupted by occasional high end frantic scratches which sounds like amplified birds cleaning themselves on the wire. The B side is a barrage of high end squeals and squeaks, metallic whistles, flapping insects, stabbing needles, knife sharpening, baby animals crying, wild boar breathing, paper ripping, and more... all made with a guitar! A truly FUCKED UP recording! Originally self released in an edition of only 20 copies.

mp3 samples: DRACO side 1 excerpt -- DRACO side 2 excerpt

For the past few years, Wyatt Howland aka SKIN GRAFT has been gravedigging deep into the most dismal and filthy areas of sound. DRUG ADDICT is one of the most sickening releases I have ever heard...it bring upon such horrible visuals I cannot help my face from squinting and frowning in disgust every time I listen. A stream of filthy water runs near a sickened drug addict shivering in a sewer. Disgusting. Originally released in a limited edition by Wagon, this reissue includes extended mixes of both sides!

mp3 samples: DRUG ADDICT side 1 excerpt -- DRUG ADDICT side 2 excerpt

Ohio synth duo's second release. Slow moving organ and synth tones pulling you into a dark but comfortable stormcloud zone reminiscent of Messiaen's organ works and early Klaus Schultze.

Dark sequencer synthesizer music...blown out. Originally released in 2007 on Mick Travis' label MEDUSA in a limited edition of 20 copies.

The Nevari Butchers nomadic member delivers 2 sides of humming, flickering, and pummelling minimalism. A side sounds like a copy machine for 15 min (it's not) ...B-side sounds like one of the MAD MEN fell asleep with his head on a synth and Christina Hendricks is walking around cleaning up the office...then the entire room gets sucked down the staircase very slowly step by step (it might even be that).

mp3 samples: Nothing Side 1 (excerpt) -- Nothing Side 2 (excerpt)

8-Track tape loops of blown out frantic melodies and crawling depressive synth swirling into a trance-phantasm-ball of infinite mental confusion. Recorded Sept 2008 at TARKER MILLS. Includes four tracks: EIGHT CUT SCARS (FOR ROBERT TURMAN), TIGHT ROPES, CRAWLING THRU THE WINDOW, and THE RUBBER MASK.

Weird dudes jamming synths. Alone. Social Problems. Problems. Recorded late into the night. Fucking A. That is the business, right there. Shit is just creepy-gets under your skin. While most noise youth get their chocolate fingers lost in gadgetry and posturing-something about a synth jam that's just.... Human ... humanly wrong. But fucking right. Right on Hive Mind.

Hub and wife deliver another assault of fluttering dead electronics... Moving more quickly than most DM releases...Gutted Horrorbleness sketched by psychic sickness. Could be the soundtrack to Harry Harrison's DEATHWORLD if they ever made it into a movie. Sick Sci-Fi horror nastiness!

Ever heard of the NORTHVILLE TUNNELS?? It's these underground tunnels in Northville, MI that lead to an old abandoned Mental Hosptial. A teenaged RAVEN STRAIN aka MATT BILLINGS used to hang out in those tunnels... ALOT! This is totally the sound of creeping thru there high on paint, seeing only by the light of a shitty BIC mini lighter... runnin around the hospital and reading the forgotten files of the inmates that once lived there. I remember him telling me a story of snakin some old filing cabinet from there and draggin em home thru the tunnels. I think he recorded that and put it on this tape. Total abandonment, illness, and drugs.

Originally slated for release on HANSON way back in ...shit...like 99 or something?!?!?! The master has finally been found...and this magnetic string of modern voice sound is ready for the public. Nyoukis on Voice & Pause button. WARNING: EXTREME SOUND POETRY... Hard guys be warned... the shit is goofy as FUCK!

NOW ON CD !!!! 'For the first half of 2005, I lived with my wife Erika in Kirtipur, Nepal. During our days, while she was studying at the Kathmandu Association For The Deaf, I was roaming the streets and villages of the Kathmandu Valley in search of sounds and music. While kickin? round the tourist district of Thamel picking up cassettes, I met a family of Snake Charmers from Haryana, INDIA. An old man probably in his 70s or 80s, his 2 grandsons, and one of the grandson?s sons. They asked if I wanted to see a show....I said Hell YES!! They gave me a show...a KILLER show... we?re talkin 3 fuckin? king cobras dancing at once, while a giant boa chilled at the side and few other random lil? snake dudes are wigglin around here and there. I became obsessed. I had met my new best friends... Though the kind of best friends you have to pay to hang out with. They were hustlers, yes.. But that?s their job... The money was well worth the shows. I spent about 3-4 days a week for the next 2 months, recording their music and their snake shows on mini-disc and videotape. I Drank alot of chiyaa with them, smoked alot of cigarettes and bidis. They taught me how to make reeds out of bamboo, and I traded them some clothes for a snake charming horn. They call them Beens, they are also known as Pungis. These guys were the best. At the end of April they left Kathmandu, heading to Pokhara, after that it was time for them to head back home with their earnings. Man...I missed them. This LP is the BEST OF THE BEST of the recordings I made of them. There are some classic Bollywood tracks, a Nepali folk song, and side 2 is a 19 minute drone journey into the head of the KING COBRA. The recordings were done in stereo. A been on the left, a been on the right. A premtal (stringed percussion instrument) on the left, a premtal on the right. The stereo recording of the charmers sway creates a very disorienting stereo tremelo effect. It?s almost as if YOU are the SNAKE! These tracks were recorded in an alley. There is the occasional rumble of a car passing by, and the low murmer of the locals checkin out the white kid with the fancy gadget hangin? with the snake dudes.' -- AARON DILLOWAY, May 2005

First release from this KILLER new project. Tom Darksmith is from California and has been ruling my head. Great organic sound collage. Total Vacuum cleaner shit.. Fans of Hands To, Yeast Culture, etc.. Need to wake up to this dude NOW... More tapes coming soon on Hanson as well. Keep ears PEELED OPEN.

So my love of progressive synth is taking me over. Pax Titania lives in Florida and makes his own synth modules...dude made his own SEQUENCER.... Which is ruling over this cassette like the 960's rule RUBYCON. One of the weirdest tapes I've released...

Thats right! From the Live archives of Damion Romero. Cassette contains 2 Speculum Fight gigs recorded in California in 1996. Ruling oldschool BZZZZZZZZZZ!!!

30 minutes of Burl from the mysetrious boxes. Heavy thick piles of drone upon drone of heavy electronic buzz, creating an intense wall of multi-layered sound attack. INTENSITY.

These midwest druggies really know what they are doing... Guitar synths, and tapes hallucinations that sound like they could maybe be an unedited ULTRA recording. Fans of the surreal sound of NWW and company should check these boys out...

The crudest project in the midwest... layers and layers of hiss and crackle piled at random thru broken EVERYTHING. Volume increases about 200% 3/4 thru the recording... Weird, harsh , CRUDE as FUCK.

Voices From The Tapes.

Breaking my recent c-30 rule to release this intense c-60 of Hive Mind's main man Greh Holger. Two 30 minute sides of motionless, uneffected modular synth. Slow as hell modulations, which take a full side to change and I think the tape runs out before that even happens.. For fans of SUPER EIGHT LOOP.
